Back To School Week

AS everyone knows its getting close to the start of a new school year. Some of our classmates will be attending FES 1/2 day and returning here for 1/2 a day. We are helping everyone in class adjust to this by having back to school week here in our class. We are talking about the many ways we get to and from school. We are talking about the many things we learn and what school supplies we need for a new school year. This weak we created our own backpacks, clipped newspaper ads and filled our backpacks with school supplies. We also went on a field trip to see the train. For our sensory center this week we made our own playdough and used cookie cutters to make shapes. It has been a reall busy week here and a lot of FUN! Parents please remember to grab your childs homework packet every Friday and return it every Monday. This helps them stay on track :)

Farm Theme

Wow! What a week. This week we had our Farm theme and will be taking our feild trip to the Farm on Friday. We learned the letters "T", "M", "R" "F" and "C" this week. Durring Circle time we learned what we do on a farm. For science we planted an indorr garden. We learned responsability by taking care of our plants. For art this week we made books. We are also making our hand print pictures for sensory time. We read Little Farmer today, and read Farm animals on Monday. We have had a great time learning this week and the week isn't over yet. We would also like to welcome our 2 new students, Tristian and Nate, WELCOME TO OUR CLASS!

Beach Theme Week

This week we had a beach theme. The kids participated in many beach theme activities. During circle time each child passed a beach ball around the circle and was able to tell the group what they would do at the beach. We read books on beaches, fish, underwater adventures, and pirates. During rest time the children used beach towels and pretended to be sunbathing at the beach. The children used the art center to draw, color, and paint pictures of beaches, shovels, pails, fish and much more. For snack we had beach theme snacks such as gold fish crackers, seaweed salad, fish shaped sandwiches and much more. The children used moon sand in the sensory center and pretended to be at the beach. For our field trip this week we took a trip to the beach! Check back next week to see what we have done.
